Return to life on the road

Welcome…come join us on our adventures!

2019, and we are FINALLY heading back to our life of travel and adventure. Much the same as our 2016 wanderings, we’re leaving with no real plan or time-frame…only a general direction. I just want to get out there, see what experiences come our way and say ‘yes’ to as many opportunities as possible. But mostly, I just want to fall back in love with the nomadic life, feeling the awe and wonder of nature, hiking, and seeing my son, Miles, learn and grow through the travelling lifestyle and homeschooling adventures. I want to rekindle the lust of life I felt when we travelled last time, and rediscover the buzz and motivation I had to write and share the stories of the amazing people we meet, and places we visit.

Our 80’s model Millard pop-top caravan has been our main place to rest our heads for the most part of 3 years, so we are pretty well practiced at living in our tiny 13 foot home on wheels. We know how to happily live without many of the benefits of modern society (our van is literally two single beds at the back, and a tiny kitchen with a gas stove in the front). We don’t have a TV, shower, air conditioning, washing machine, or any kitchen appliances. If we can’t run it, or charge it, on 12V, we don’t have it.

Our previous travels taught us that happiness doesn’t come from owning ‘stuff’. We’ve instead learnt to value what’s real and unchanging….time, the beauty of nature, and the people and experiences that life offers. We’ve learnt to give freely to others, and are learning to receive in return (being a fiercely independent woman, that’s a pretty uncomfortable thing sometimes).

So, a little about me… I’m a passionate, unapologetic, lover of nature, a solid greenie, with lots of contention about society and the way we treat the earth and each other. I live as consciously as possible (always room for improvement), and try to take up as little space as possible in the world. I live a very minimalist/intentional life, which costs less money, and naturally creates less stress. Although living this way can sometimes take more time, it definitely slows life down (picture hand washing clothes), and creates more space for the more important things in my life…time with my boy, time to breathe, grow and learn, and time to give back to communities and society in as many ways as possible.

So come join us on a super fun, adventurous ride, sharing the everyday ups and downs of our travelling life, our homeschooling days, the community work we engage in. I look forward to sharing an insight into the many social and environmental issues that grab my heart and attention.

Peace and Love,

Daniela xx
